Information
I
studied voice-over techniques through private lessons
taken with a well-known Boston radio host at his
production company in Boston.
I
also volunteer as a voice-over talent in the recording
studio at the New Hampshire Association for the Blind.
I
have Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. As I
continue to perform as a flutist, I have also studied
voice for many years with a prominent Boston classical
singer and perform with one of Boston's premiere choral
groups. I have attended summer chamber music workshops
for many years, in the U.S., Canada and Italy, where I
have performed as a flutist and as a singer. As a
singer, I have experience in singing in Italian,
Spanish, French and German, and this translates to my
ability to easily read foreign words in voice-over
scripts. My
extensive musical background as a flutist and classical
singer has given me a good "ear" for tone
quality, pitch, rhythm, phrasing and nuance, as well as
a disciplined approach to my voice-over work.
As
a performer, I am often required to address the audience
to speak about the music. I have also taught private and
group music lessons to children and adults, as well as
nature classes to young children. My background in
performance, teaching, and an active involvement in
community activities has given me good experience in
adjusting my vocal style and presentation, and this
experience enhances my ability to apply the appropriate
voice to a variety of voice-over "audiences."
