            This Privacy Policy describes steps Character Voices, Inc., a Virginia corporation, takes to protect your “Personal Information,” defined below.

1.                  Definitions.            Terms defined in the document entitled “Terms of Use” which is posted on our web site, www.voiceoverdirectory.com, are incorporated into this instrument by reference.  In addition, the following terms shall have the meaning indicated.

a.                  “Cookie” or “Cookies” as used in this instrument means a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to Your browser from a web site’s computer, such as Ours, and which is stored on Your computer’s hard drive.  Cookies are often used by web sites to keep track of preferences you provide to that web site so that the web site can customize the content You receive.  You can change the settings on your browser to limit or deny a web site’s ability to set Cookies on your computer; however, doing so may cause the web site not to function for you as it was designed to do.

b.                 “IP Address” as used in this instrument means the Internet Protocol address of a computer, such as Yours, which is logged on to a web site, such as Ours.  For most users accessing the Internet from a dial-up Internet service provider, the IP Address will be different every time you log on.

c.                “Personal Information” as used in this instrument has the following meaning.  For those who complete the Registration process to commence use or to renew use of the Service We provide, “Personal Information” means (i) those facts about You such as, for example, Your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and credit card number which You provide to Us in the Registration process when You first register to commence obtaining the Service, or renew Your Registration to continue obtaining the Service, as the case may be, or which you otherwise provide to Us, (ii) facts about You which You include, or ask Us to include, about You on our web site, www.voiceoverdirectory.com, (iii) Cookies and (iv) Your IP Address.  For others who merely access our web site, “Personal Information” means Cookies and Your IP Address.

d.                 “Privacy Policy” as used in this instrument means the steps described in this instrument which Character Voices, Inc., a Virginia corporation, takes to protect your Personal Information.

e.                 “Web Beacon” and “Web Beacons” as used in this instrument means an electronic image, sometimes called a “single-pixel GIF”, on a web site, such as Ours, that allows the web site to count users who have visited that page or that allows the web site to access certain Cookies on your computer.

2.            Coverage.         This policy statement applies to Character Voices, Inc., a Virginia corporation.  It describes how We treat your Personal Information.  This policy statement does not apply to any other company, including any company that advertises on Our web site, www.voiceoverdirectory.com, or any company that links to or from Our web site.

3.                  Information Collection.        For those who complete the Registration process to use the Service We provide, We collect Personal Information about You (i) when You complete the Registration process with Us, (ii) when You provide information to Us to include on Our web site www.voiceoverdirectory.com, so that those who visit Our web site will know of Your services, and (iii) when You visit pages in Our web site.  For others who merely access Our web site, We collect Personal Information when You visit pages on Our web site.  The Personal Information we collect when You visit Our web site includes Your IP Address and general information used for statistical purposes to help Us know how to improve Our web site.  Such general information is collected anonymously by categories such as the number of visitors to the site, the number of visitors who browse the directory, search the directory, access the demo page, visit the sign-up page, sign-up for newsletters, and click on links, advertisements, and specific directory entries.

4.           Use of Personal Information.           We do not sell or otherwise provide Personal Information about You to any third party, except that if You include, or ask Us to include, information about You on Our web site, www.voiceoverdirectory.com, so that those who visit Our web site will know of Your services, then anyone who accesses Our web site will have access to that information.  Such information about You which is posted on Our web site may include, for example, Your name, gender, “reading age”, union affiliation or non-union status, the address or region where You are located or conduct business, Your available equipment, a sound clip or sound clips of Your voice, a list of clients, and like information.  In the event of a prospective sale of the business or business assets, or web site www.voiceoverdirectory.com, of Character Voices, Inc., its merger into, joint venture or business combination with another entity, its “partnering” with another entity, or any other similar business affiliation with another entity, Your Personal Information may be provided to that other entity as, in our sole judgment, may be necessary or desirable for the other party to evaluate, or for the other party and Us to effectuate, the proposed transaction.  In some cases the other party may not have a privacy policy or may have a privacy policy that differs from Ours.  Notwithstanding anything else contained in Our privacy policy, You acknowledge, consent and agree that We may access, preserve, and disclose Your Personal Information if required to do so by law or in a good faith belief that such access, preservation, or disclosure is reasonably necessary (a) to comply with legal process or (b) to protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Us, Our users, or the public. If You have completed the Registration process to use the Service, then You acknowledge, consent and agree that We may also access, preserve, and disclose Your Personal Information:  (a) to enforce the Terms of Service; (b) to respond to claims that any Content violates the rights of third-parties; or (c) to respond to your requests for customer service.

5.                 Third-Party Advertisers.         We may have advertisements from third-parties on our web site, www.voiceoverdirectory.com. Those advertisements may be targeted to certain segments of the population, for example by gender, age group or geographic area.  We do not provide any Personal Information to the third-party advertiser, however, if You click on an advertisement, the advertiser will know Your IP Address and may assume You meet criteria for the target population to which the advertisement is directed.  If You click on an advertisement, that advertisement may contain Web Beacons and the advertiser may also set Cookies on Your computer.  The advertiser may also send to You e-mail solicitations or other communications.

6.                  Linked Sites.         We provide links to other web sites which We think will be useful to persons who access Our web site.  We do not review or approve the content of linked sites and have no control over the privacy policy of linked sites.  We do not provide Personal Information to linked sites.  However, once You click on a link to another site, You leave Our site and Our Privacy Policy will no longer apply to you.  If you click on a link to another site, the other site will know your IP Address, may have Web Beacons, and may also set Cookies on your computer.  The other site may also send to You e-mail solicitations or other communications.  You must review the privacy policy of the linked site to know how Your Personal Information will be treated by the linked site.

7.                  Security.            We strive to take reasonable steps to protect Your Personal Information.  However, no storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure and most data transmission over the Internet is not secure.  Security of your Personal Information is also your responsibility.  Do not respond to an e-mail or other request from anyone which asks for any personal information about you.  The “from” block on the e-mail message can easily be forged and there are many scams on the Internet which attempt to obtain personal information about You. If you are uncertain whether an e-mail message is from Us, do not “reply” to the message, but instead either telephone Us or send Us an original e-mail message at Our address as shown on our web site, www.voiceoverdirectory.com, asking if the message is authentic.  If you believe that Your Personal Information has been compromised, please report it to Us immediately.  If You believe You are a victim of identity theft, contact federal and your state and local law enforcement authorities.  The Federal Trade Commission has recommendations about what You should do if You believe You are the victim of identity theft.  Those recommendations can be found at http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/naps/naps_identity.htm
